About Golden Leaves

Funeral Planning Authority logo

Golden Leaves was formed by a highly regarded family of funeral directors in Croydon, which has been serving its community since 1875.  Golden Leaves is one of only a handful of funeral plan providers that guarantee to pay the third-party cremation and officiant fees.

Ethics and high operational standards are pivotal to the way Golden Leaves does things.  This is reflected in the company’s continued efforts to strengthen the board of Trustees, which includes consumer protection and regulation experts.

Golden Leaves is registered with the Funeral Planning Authority (FPA), which has been regulating prepaid funeral plans since 2002.

How Golden Leaves protects your funeral plan money

It could be many years before your funeral plan is activated.

To keep your money safe, funds for single and monthly payment plans are paid directly into the Golden Leaves Trust.  The Trust  is managed by an independent board of Trustees, which has appointed Julius Baer and Quilter Cheviot as investment fund managers.  The fund is regulated in compliance with The Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (Regulated Activities) Order 2001 and is annually independently audited.

For plans involving lower fixed monthly payments, a whole of life policy will be taken out with Phoenix Life to cover the cost of the funeral plan. Phoenix Life Ltd is authorised by the Prudential Regulation Authority and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.

The Funeral Planning Authority (FPA) receives copies of the Trust's accounts, valuations and any other information it requests.
